Watch: Understanding Colonialism

In this time of tremendous resistance to police violence against African people, it is more important than ever to be clear on what we are fighting for and get to the root of the problem.

The African People’s Socialist Party has been leading the struggle, since 1972, to defeat colonialism and for political and economic power in the hands of the African working class, wherever they have been dispersed around the world.

In this political study, African People’s Solidarity Committee Chairwoman, Penny Hess helps us gain a deeper understanding about colonialism, then and now, and how white people can take a stand to end colonial violence for good, under the leadership of the black-led, anti-colonial Uhuru Movement.

Penny Hess is Chair  of the African People's Solidarity Committee and author of the book Overturning the Culture of Violence. She is also Editor of the White Solidarity with Black Power column that appears in The Burning Spear newspaper.
