Uhuru Pies

A benefit for the African-led Uhuru Movement, uniting African people worldwide to transform their own conditions.
Bring social responsibility to the table during an otherwise commercialized holiday season.
Since 1981, the Uhuru Pie Campaign has been a holiday tradition allowing the broadest sector of our communities to support economic development and social justice for African people.
Uhuru Pies are delicious, fresh-baked with all natural ingredients.
In these difficult economic times, the black community is hit the hardest. In fact, African people in this country, and worldwide, have already faced economic deprivation and poverty. African people are demanding solidarity, not charity, as they work to build self-reliance and a sustainable economy that benefits their communities. The Uhuru Pie Campaign gives us a tremendous opportunity for solidarity with Africa and her people, whether in West Oakland, St. Petersburg or West Africa.
Uhuru Pies is a also project of the African People's Education and Defense Fund.
Join us in Oakland, California and St. Petersburg, Florida between October and December, buying, selling, and helping bake these incredible pies.
