The African People's Solidarity Committee (APSC) National Conference

What are the root causes of the economic crisis and intensified U.S. wars we are currently facing?

Is there a connection between racism, Wall Street and the growing gap between the wealthy and the oppressed in this country and the world?

How do we fight for social justice and real transformation and be part of creating a viable future for all of humanity?

The African People’s Solidarity Committee (APSC) National Conference took place Jan. 8-10 in St. Petersburg, FL. It provided answers to these questions and gave strategies for resistance and solidarity with the movements of African and oppressed peoples.

APSC is the organization of white people and other allies that works under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party that leads the Uhuru Movement for African liberation.

A message from APSC chair Penny Hess

Penny HessUhuru! I am Penny Hess, chair of the African People’s Solidarity Committee (APSC). In this time of the deepening crisis of imperialism and the growing resistance of African and oppressed peoples around the world, we invite you to participate in APSC’s annual national conference, Jan. 8-10, 2012 at the Uhuru House in St. Petersburg, FL.

"Resist War and Repression: Solidarity with African Liberation" is the theme of the conference which will bring together Euro-Americans from throughout the U.S. to deepen our ability to begin to see the world through the eyes of the oppressed and to get organized in solidarity with the struggle for reparations, national liberation and justice for African people.

APSC is the organization of white people and other allies that works under the direct leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party that leads the Uhuru Movement for African liberation. Our work is to win others just like ourselves to recognize that our true interest is in righting the historic wrongs to African people as the only road to peace on this planet.

At this conference you will have the profound opportunity to be part of in-depth workshops and presentations led by Chairman Omali Yeshitela and other leaders of the African People’s Socialist Party and the solidarity movement that deal with the most critical issues facing the world today.

You will learn how Wall Street, the U.S. economy and imperialism itself rest on the foundation of the enslavement of African people, the genocide of the Indigenous people and the colonial domination of oppressed peoples around the world—and you will learn what you can do to be part of transforming the legacy of this injustice.

You will be challenged to go deeper than the issues of “racism” and reform and will learn how the problem is colonialism, the political, economic and institutional relationship that African people have to this system.

You will learn how you can play a critical role in bringing about a new world, based on liberation and justice, by going into the white community to build solidarity and reparations for African people.

This period of deep crisis, upheaval and resistance calls on us to get active, get organized and build a movement that stands in solidarity with victory to African, Arab, Indigenous and Asian people around the world.

Uhuru!
Penny
