Build African People's Solidarity Day!

The African People's Solidarity Day Campaign and Uhuru Foods condemn the US backed attacks by Israel on the people of Lebanon. These most recent deadly attacks on the Palestinian and Lebanese people are part of the on-going effort to consolidate and deepen the colonial power of Israel as a U.S. imperialist outpost in the Middle East.

On Sunday, July 30th, Israel bombed the town of Qana, killing over 60 people, the majority of them women and children who had been seeking shelter in the basement of a home. Since the Israeli government launched this most recent military offensive on July 12, 2006, over 750 people, the majority of them civilians, have been killed by bombs from Israeli warplanes and artillery funded by the U.S. government.

This assault by Israel coincides with its heightened attack on the Palestinian people and the reoccupation of Gaza with tanks. The Israeli army has killed over 160 Palestinians since it began its most recent assault, over half of which were civilians.

Israel's recent attacks on the Lebanese and Palestinian people have their origin in the foundation of Israel as a colonial state in 1948. This colonial settler state was built on stolen Palestinian land and upholds U.S. imperialist interests in the Middle East with ongoing support of the U.K. The Palestinian and Lebanese resistance heightened in response to the Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon that occurred in 1982 and the subsequent massacre of Palestinians at Sabra and Shatila refugee camps supported by the Israeli army.

We support the resistance and the rights of the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples to their own land and resources and the ongoing united resistance of the Arab peoples. We believe that the liberation of Africa, the Middle East and all oppressed peoples is the key to peace on this planet!

Join us in building African People's Solidarity Day in November of 2006! African People's Solidarity Day is a campaign of the African People's Solidarity Committee, a committee that works under the leadership of the African People's Socialist Party to win white support for the unification and liberation of Africa and African People.
